Holly and Dan's vintage wedding at The Bull, Peterborough

20th July 2017
I love working with couples who are as excited about their photographs as I am. That's not to say Holly and Dan love being photographed - they were apprehensive at first, just like everyone else. It's just they were so excited about their wedding they wanted to do everything they could to make the most of it and capture every moment.

It was a vintage themed wedding, so my vintage umbrellas came in very handy, especially when we had a short downpour at the end of the romantic photographs in Thorpe Wood.

There were so many things about this wedding that did their best to steal the show...

...was it the phenomenal cake by Amy's Heavenly Cakes

...or was it the sassy salsa moves of Holly and Dan for their first dance?

...was it perhaps my slideshow that projected photographs of Holly and Dan growing up?

...Fantastic as they were, it was none of those things.

...gasp - it wasn't even Holly!!!

...No, it was Sophie's speech where she told Dan how much she loved him.

Everyone was in bits. Even Shannon, the event coordinator at The Bull, Peterborough, was in tears. I just pretended to twiddle some knobs on my camera as I gathered myself! What also impressed me about her was how phenomenally polite she was. In the morning I asked her for a photograph in their garden and afterwards I thanked her and she said 'you're welcome'. What a credit she is to this awesome couple.

After an engagement session and the wedding I'm just pleased I don't have to say goodbye to this lovely family, because we still have a 'Trash the Dress / Rock The Frock' session to go. This is where you do a creative photoshoot with the bride and groom in their wedding clothes. It's going to be a lot of fun.

Finally, a big thanks to my second shooter Alan Howe from Alan Howe Photography who photographed Dan in the morning and helped out throughout the day.

Enjoy this small selection of the photographs from the day.
