Huntingdon family photographer - Autumn leaves photoshoot

I know the best place near Huntingdon for family photoshoots in the Autumn leaves and it looks spectacular.

Your children will love rampaging through the leaves and throwing them in the air while I capture photographs of their joy and wonder.

I don’t want parents to be under any pressure during the photoshoot - it’s all on me. If your children are grumpy it’s my job to entertain them. If your children aren’t listening to instructions then don’t worry, I’ll still get beautiful photographs regardless. I’ll use my 11 years experience of photographing children to work some magic and get them how and where I want them.

My style is to let the children do what they want because you get the best photographs when they’re happy.

But I have lots of tricks for…

…cheering them up

…getting them to smile and laugh

…moving them to where I want them

…to interact with the rest of the family

Some children take a little longer than others but I won’t be defeated and I love the challenge so don’t worry! ;-)

The key is to make the experience like a family play-date where you all get to spend quality time with each other.

Clothing for your Autumn leaves photoshoot

The colours of the Autumn leaves will give your photographs a richness.

If you’re looking for decent sized wall art then just make sure those strong Autumn colours will go with the decor of your home, or whether the greens of early Autumn would be better.

I don’t want to sound like the fashion police but clothing can make or break a family photoshoot. It’s not about fashion, it’s about whether you look good together and whether your clothes photograph well, and whether they’re too distracting.

You certainly don’t have to all dress the same as that looks too false, but here are a few tips for you.

For Autumn leaves photoshoots I’d recommend choosing clothes that will go with the colours of the leaves. Ideally you want clothes with colours that complement nature and that aren’t too bright or garish.

Browns and greys and muted greens and navy blue, or Burgundy are all good.

I’d avoid bright red or neon coloured coats, or really busy patterns.

Although there’s technically nothing wrong with black it will look a bit depressing if you’re all in very dark tones. But if one of you is in black and two are in brown and someone else is in navy blue then it would work fine.

It’s perfect if you’re all wearing clothes with colours and tones that complement each other. So you don’t want one person in white, one person in black and another in red and another in yellow because it will be a kaleidoscope of colours and look too distracting.

I recommend bringing a few layers because in the Autumn the weather can be changeable and sometimes we’ll be quite active and getting warm, while other times we may be sitting for a little while.

I always have a planning chat with my clients and part of that conversation includes clothing choices. Clients are always welcome to email or text me photographs of clothes they’re considering to help put your mind at rest.
