Holmewood Hall Wedding Photos - Mike and Mae
/ Holmewood Hall/ Daniel WatersThe phrase ‘Beautiful inside and out' most definitely applies to both Mike and Mae and their wedding venue, Holmewood Hall.
Holmewood Hall is perfect for wedding photos but their 3 adorable children did their best to steal mum and dad’s thunder at every opportunity.
They also tried to steal my dignity with a variety of games, but fortunately I don’t have any!
For example, they had me squeezing under beds playing hide and seek and even chasing sticks like a dog. In fact, my canine antics were something I did two years ago on their family photoshoot and Harry remembered it all this time… so I couldn’t disappoint him.
They absolutely nailed the child friendly vibe with lots of different guests helping look after the multitude of children.
The weather was gloriously warm so they could have an outdoor wedding by Holmewood Hall’s famous bandstand.
During the ceremony their youngest son Stanley decided he wanted to be the centre of attention so he crawled into the bandstand and sat on Mae’s stunning dress.
After the ceremony and confetti I rounded the guests up for group photos with my loud-hailer. I love it because in enables me to speak in a nice tone of voice but still be loud enough to hear. And let’s face it wedding guests often try and pretend they can’t hear their name to see if they can get out of being photographed.
The loud-hailer often gets snaffled by a child, which makes for some fun photos as they rampage around barking out orders! On this occasion it was a groomsmen who couldn’t resists a quick play.
I always try and make the group photos a little more entertaining than ‘say cheese’, so I brought a bottle of Prosecco for the bridesmaids and groomsmen to spray around F1 style. I also got Mike and Mae’s children to sit on a bench which their grandparents and auntie lifted it up and rocked it about like a fairground ride.
After the wedding breakfast and speeches the sun was getting nice and low in the sky bathing Holmewood Hall and its grounds in a golden glow. His was the perfect time for Mike and Mae’s romantic photographs.
It was then time for the cake cut and first dance. One of the many great things about creating wedding photos at Holmewood hall is that they let guests throw confetti indoors during the first dance (yes we did confetti outdoors and indoors - but you can never have too much confetti!)
The guests gathered up and around the spiral staircase while Mike and Mae cut the cake and then danced as confetti rained down.
Then we all went back outside for two of my favourite things to do at a wedding - a sparkler tunnel and twilight romantic photographs. They always have that dramatic wow factor and are the perfect way to sign off a wedding album.
