Wild West themed wedding at Bassmead Manor Barns
/ Dan Waters Creative/ Daniel WatersJames and Steff’s wild west themed wedding at Bassmead Manor Barns even had a sponsor!
…The international boot manufacturer Ariat.
I knew this was going to be one of my favourite ever weddings when they asked for a wild west engagement session and I created some shoot-out scenes for them…
The bridesmaids and groomsmen wore darn tootin’ awesome boots from Ariat and guests were allowed to wear jeans and cowboy hats and boots, too.
A Rodeo Bull was erected in the Bassmead courtyard and was a huge attraction, despite the bracing chill.
Speaking of weather, we got so lucky dodging all the rain we had this week and we were blessed with a beautiful sunset too. Steff and James were happy to run out for a photograph beneath the fiery sky despite being half way through their meal. They were both so wonderful to work with: fun, enthusiastic, patient and apparently immune to the cold. I think their carefree, happy attitude shines through in the photographs.
Although I’ve photographed a lot of weddings at Bassmead Manor Barns this was the first one I’ve done in the colder months. One of the great things about this was that Bassmead’s beautifully lit bridge was looking resplendent from the early sunset onwards.
As always Bassmead’s reception room looked fantastic too with the walls and beams festooned with fairy lights.
Now, we all know the bride is the main attraction at any wedding - but that’s especially true when the bride is an hilarious fireball of energy like Steff. She was the life and soul of the wedding with various antics like:
…pretending to flash people by lifting up her wedding dress
…hitting the rodeo bull hard
…skipping around in the wet grass like a flower girl
…and generally pulling funny faces and waving her arms with glee throughout the day…
…even when she got a mouth full of confetti when someone threw the entire box - including the box!
James wasn’t to be outdone though. You’ll notice some crowd surfing on the dance floor and a spot of dry humping one of his mates. #lovetheoneyourwith
You'll notice the guests weren't shy either!
