Winter family photoshoot Cambridge
/Winter may not seem the best time to have a family photoshoot but it actually has some advantages and I do a lot of them around the Cambridge and Peterborough areas.
One huge benefit is that the light is beautiful, especially if the sun is out.
This is because photographing outside is always best when the sun is low in the sky because it makes the light more golden. In winter the sun never gets high so it’s golden all day long and you don’t have to take the children out late.
I know a wood where the leaves lay thick and golden on the ground all through the winter which adds an extra splash of colour to the photoshoot. And there are few things that children love more than throwing leaves around.
This winter photoshoot was extra special because they had a newborn baby (Georgie) with them. Since this was their third child they were pretty relaxed about having their baby out in nature and the chilly winter air. We had to keep her nicely wrapped up, but as you can see she was perfectly comfortable and happy.
Her big sisters (Lyla and Ebony) were great to photograph too as they were full of beans and full of sass!
There are 3 of my favourite photographs in this one photoshoot
Little Georgie asleep in the golden sunlight
Lyla and Ebony running through the woods and laughing
The 3 of them all laying under the blanket and cuddling
So, the best time for a family photoshoot is always NOW. Don’t delay because it’s the easiest thing in the world to forget about, until you realise your children have grown another year older and will never be the same again.
