There are many family photo studios in Peterborough so it can be hard to know who to choose. So let me explain some of the things to consider when selecting a photo studio and some of the things that make my studio unique.

No child is too shy or too bonkers!

If you’re like most people then the thought of being photographed is a little scary.

You’re worried about feeling awkward.

You’re worried your children will either cry or be completely out of control.

Don’t worry, I have never failed to entertain a child or put parents at ease.

I don’t want you to feel responsible for encouraging your children to smile or behave. Its all down to me to get those great expressions - you can just enjoy the ride!

I chat with you over Zoom to plan your perfect photoshoot

After you hire me I don’t just shove a camera in your face and start photographing. Before you commit to a photoshoot I have a chat with you (usually over Zoom) so I can get to know your family.

I’ll ask about what you like to do as a family, how you would normally interact, where you like to go, what your personalities are like etc. etc.

It’s only through getting a good understanding of what you’re like that I can capture the real you.

After all - there’s no point in me asking you to throw your child in the air if you’d never normally do that.

Also, some families like more interactive photographs while others prefer everyone to be looking a the camera. Some like a mixture. It’s only through having a pre-consultation that we can create your perfect photographs that capture your family naturally, and at its best.

I know all the best places

I love hiking and have spent literally thousands of hours scouting the Peterborough area for all the best photography locations.

It doesn’t matter that time of year it is - I always know somewhere that looks amazing. All my favourite locations are very secluded too, so you won’t have lots of people around making you uncomfortable.

You won’t feel awkward

I specialise in creating outdoor family photographs. I find people are more relaxed outside and it feels more natural.

The only time I photograph indoors is with young babies or when creating documentary style photographs in people’s homes - where they also feel comfortable and relaxed.

Outside your children can rampage around climbing trees, throwing leaves and racing each other. It becomes like a family play-date rather than a stressful photoshoot.

When you think of it as a family playdate then the photoshoot is great fun.

I don’t have fixed collections - you can choose as many photographs as you want and have your artwork rendered in whatever way you choose: framed wall portraits, canvases, albums, digital files, professional prints and Heirloom boxes.
